About the Company

We are a technology-led organization focused on building reliable, secure, and scalable digital products and platforms for customers in a fast-changing business environment. Our teams combine strong engineering discipline with practical business judgment to turn complex technology needs into measurable outcomes.

The organization values ownership, clarity, and continuous improvement. Technology decisions are expected to improve resilience, speed, efficiency, and customer experience rather than add complexity. Teams work collaboratively across engineering, product, security, operations, and business functions to deliver solutions that can scale responsibly.

This role joins a team that treats cloud capability as a strategic lever. The Cloud Architect will help establish standards, guide important platform choices, and enable delivery teams to build and operate dependable services. Success will be measured through improved reliability, stronger security, faster delivery, controlled cloud costs, and a consistent architecture foundation for future growth.

About the Role

The Cloud Architect will own the organization’s cloud architecture direction and convert business and product needs into secure, resilient, scalable, and cost-effective technology foundations. You will shape target-state architecture, guide platform decisions, and ensure delivery teams can implement solutions consistently.

The role operates across architecture, engineering, security, operations, and product stakeholders. You will establish reusable patterns for infrastructure, networking, identity, data, application platforms, and observability while balancing speed, risk, and long-term maintainability.

Your impact will be visible in stronger service reliability, faster engineering execution, improved security posture, better cloud cost control, and reduced architectural fragmentation. You will influence without relying solely on hierarchy, create clarity in ambiguous situations, and raise the organization’s overall cloud maturity through standards, automation, and knowledge sharing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own cloud target-state architecture and roadmaps, translating business priorities into scalable platform decisions that improve delivery speed, resilience, security, and long-term technology flexibility.
  • Define reference architectures, engineering standards, and governance controls across compute, storage, networking, identity, integration, data, and observability to reduce inconsistency and architectural risk.
  • Lead architecture reviews for major initiatives, making trade-offs explicit and ensuring designs meet availability, performance, security, compliance, maintainability, and cost objectives.
  • Partner with engineering and DevOps teams to embed infrastructure as code, CI/CD, automated controls, monitoring, and operational readiness into the software delivery lifecycle.
  • Establish cloud cost management practices, capacity approaches, and optimization levers that improve financial visibility while protecting application performance and service reliability.
  • Collaborate with security teams to design identity, access, encryption, network segmentation, secrets management, vulnerability controls, and incident readiness into cloud platforms.
  • Mentor engineers and architects through design reviews, technical documentation, enablement sessions, and reusable patterns that increase independent execution and reduce avoidable rework.
  • Track architecture outcomes through reliability, deployment speed, security findings, cloud spend, platform adoption, and technical debt indicators, using evidence to prioritize improvements.

Essential Skills & Technologies

  • Strong experience designing and operating cloud architectures on AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud, with practical knowledge of networking, IAM, compute, storage, databases, containers, serverless, and integration services.
  • Proficiency with infrastructure as code and delivery automation, including Terraform or equivalent tools, CI/CD pipelines, configuration management, version control, observability, and production operations practices.
  • Working knowledge of cloud security, resilience engineering, disaster recovery, high availability, performance engineering, cost optimization, API architecture, and governance frameworks across enterprise environments.
  • Ability to produce clear architecture diagrams, decision records, standards, and roadmaps while communicating complex technical trade-offs to senior technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience influencing multiple engineering teams, guiding implementation, resolving architectural disagreement, and converting strategic technology direction into measurable operational outcomes.

Additional Plus

  • Experience modernizing monolithic applications, designing microservices or event-driven systems, and guiding migration programs from traditional data centers to cloud platforms.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes, service meshes, platform engineering, data platforms, FinOps practices, compliance requirements, and automated policy enforcement is valuable for broad architecture ownership.
  • Relevant cloud certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Google Professional Cloud Architect can strengthen your application but are not mandatory.

What You'll Bring

  • You bring 7–8 years of experience across cloud architecture, infrastructure engineering, platform engineering, DevOps, or related technology roles, including meaningful ownership of production environments.
  • You bring architectural judgment grounded in implementation. You can move from business requirements to secure designs, explain trade-offs, and stay engaged until solutions deliver reliable business value.
  • You bring strong systems thinking across applications, infrastructure, networking, security, data, and operations, with the ability to identify dependencies and manage risk before it becomes a delivery constraint.
  • You bring an outcome-oriented approach to standards and governance. You know when to create guardrails, when to enable team autonomy, and how to prevent architecture from becoming unnecessary process.
  • You bring practical experience improving reliability, deployment velocity, security, scalability, or cloud economics through automation, platform capabilities, and disciplined engineering practices.
  • You bring clear written and verbal communication, using diagrams, decision records, and concise recommendations to align stakeholders and accelerate high-quality decisions.
  • You bring a collaborative leadership style that develops engineers, creates reusable knowledge, and earns trust across teams without depending on formal authority.
  • You bring curiosity and adaptability, staying current with cloud capabilities while selecting technology based on fit, operational reality, and measurable impact rather than trends.

Why Join Us

You will have the opportunity to shape cloud architecture as a business capability rather than simply maintain infrastructure. Your decisions will influence platform resilience, engineering productivity, security, customer experience, and the organization’s ability to scale responsibly.

This is a role for someone who wants broad ownership and visible impact. You will work across technology functions, guide important decisions, and create standards that help teams move faster with greater confidence. The position offers the scope to combine strategic architecture with practical delivery and operational improvement.

You will also help raise the organization’s cloud maturity by mentoring engineers, enabling reusable patterns, and making complex technology choices easier to execute. If you enjoy solving high-leverage problems, balancing competing constraints, and building foundations that support durable growth, this role offers meaningful technical influence and leadership opportunity.

What We Offer

  • Broad architectural ownership across cloud platforms, security, reliability, delivery automation, and cost management, with direct influence on the systems that support business growth.
  • A collaborative, hybrid working environment where senior technologists partner with engineering, product, security, and operations teams on high-impact decisions.
  • Opportunities to shape standards, mentor technical talent, improve engineering effectiveness, and grow as a strategic technology leader while remaining connected to implementation outcomes.
