About the Role

The GCP Infrastructure Specialist will own the stability, scalability, and security of the cloud foundation that supports business systems and engineering workflows. The role focuses on building reliable Google Cloud Platform environments, improving operational resilience, and ensuring infrastructure is ready for growth, compliance, and performance needs. Success in this role comes from turning cloud operations into a dependable platform that teams can trust every day. You will work across provisioning, monitoring, automation, and incident response to reduce risk and improve uptime. The position suits someone who can balance hands-on execution with structured, outcome-driven cloud operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the health and availability of GCP infrastructure, using monitoring, alerting, and incident response controls to reduce service disruption and improve platform reliability.
  • Design and maintain cloud environments, ensuring compute, networking, storage, and identity layers are structured for scale, security, and operational consistency.
  • Automate recurring infrastructure tasks through scripts and infrastructure-as-code, lowering manual effort while improving repeatability, speed, and change quality.
  • Support deployment readiness by partnering with engineering teams, making sure cloud environments are stable, well-governed, and suitable for application delivery.
  • Strengthen security and access controls across GCP, applying least-privilege principles, configuration standards, and remediation processes to reduce risk exposure.
  • Investigate and resolve infrastructure issues quickly, translating root causes into durable fixes that improve uptime and reduce repeat incidents.
  • Improve cost and performance efficiency, using usage insights and optimization levers to keep cloud spend controlled without weakening reliability.
  • Document environments, standards, and operating procedures so that infrastructure decisions remain transparent, supportable, and easy to scale across teams.

Essential Skills & Technologies

  • Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform services, including networking, compute, storage, IAM, monitoring, and operational support practices.
  • Working knowledge of infrastructure-as-code and automation tools, using them to create repeatable environments and reduce manual configuration drift.
  • Practical understanding of cloud security fundamentals, including access management, policy controls, and secure baseline configuration.
  • Experience with troubleshooting production infrastructure issues, including root-cause analysis, incident handling, and corrective action planning.
  • Ability to work with DevOps and engineering teams to support deployments, platform changes, and operational improvements.
  • Familiarity with scripting and operational tooling that helps standardize tasks, improve visibility, and speed up platform support.
  • Good understanding of performance tuning, cost optimization, and reliability practices in a cloud environment.

Additional Plus

  • GCP certification such as Associate Cloud Engineer or Professional Cloud Engineer would be a strong advantage.
  • Exposure to hybrid infrastructure environments or enterprise network integration would be useful in this role.
  • Experience supporting regulated or large-scale multi-team environments would help with speed and governance.

What You'll Bring

  • A structured approach to cloud operations, with a clear focus on reliability, security, and measurable platform performance.
  • The ability to turn technical issues into practical fixes, improving service continuity and reducing repeat operational effort.
  • Strong collaboration skills, with the discipline to support engineering teams while maintaining infrastructure standards and control.
  • Comfort working in a fast-moving environment where operational ownership and clear prioritization matter every day.

Why Join Us

This role offers the chance to support a globally distributed engineering business with real operational complexity and long-term infrastructure needs. You will help shape the cloud foundation that enables teams to deliver reliable transport and mobility solutions across many countries. The environment is well suited to someone who wants to own meaningful infrastructure outcomes rather than only manage routine tasks. You will work in a context where stability, scalability, and security directly affect delivery quality, team productivity, and business resilience. If you enjoy building dependable cloud systems and improving how infrastructure supports large-scale work, this is a strong opportunity to make a visible impact.

What We Offer
