Its multi-industry exposure creates an environment where professionals can contribute to complex requirements, collaborate with stakeholders, and solve problems with practical business impact. Binding Minds values adaptability, professionalism, resilience, leadership potential, and respect for inclusive workplace principles. The company is addressing a growing need for specialized technical talent, including engineers who can help advance next-generation drone and unmanned systems. This role offers the opportunity to apply deep RF expertise to products and platforms where communication reliability, safety, range, and operational performance directly influence customer outcomes. The team welcomes professionals who combine strong engineering judgment with disciplined execution and collaborative problem-solving.
About the Role
As a Radio Frequency Engineer, you will own the design, integration, validation, and performance improvement of RF systems used in drone and unmanned aerial vehicle platforms. You will translate operational requirements into reliable communication architectures, guide component and antenna decisions, and resolve performance issues through disciplined analysis and testing. The role connects RF engineering with avionics, embedded systems, mechanical design, manufacturing, and field operations. Success means improving link reliability, range, electromagnetic compatibility, and system readiness while keeping designs practical for production and deployment. Based in Delhi, you will work in a hybrid environment with hands-on lab, integration, and field activities as required. Your decisions will directly influence flight safety, mission continuity, product quality, and customer confidence.
Key Responsibilities
- Own RF architecture and subsystem design for drone communication, telemetry, navigation, and payload links, ensuring performance meets range, reliability, spectrum, and integration requirements.
- Select and evaluate RF components, transceivers, amplifiers, filters, connectors, and antennas, balancing performance, power consumption, availability, cost, and environmental constraints.
- Lead simulation, bench testing, antenna characterization, link-budget analysis, and flight validation through documented test plans, measurable acceptance criteria, and corrective actions.
- Diagnose interference, desensitization, signal integrity, and electromagnetic compatibility issues using calibrated instruments and structured root-cause analysis to restore dependable system performance.
- Partner with embedded, avionics, mechanical, software, manufacturing, and quality teams to resolve integration risks and convert validated RF designs into production-ready hardware.
- Maintain RF requirements, schematics, test reports, design reviews, compliance records, and engineering change documentation so decisions remain traceable across the product lifecycle.
- Support supplier evaluation, prototype builds, certification activities, and field investigations, ensuring external capabilities and real-world feedback improve product readiness and operating reliability.
Essential Skills & Technologies
- Strong RF fundamentals covering propagation, modulation, link budgets, impedance matching, noise figure, sensitivity, gain, filters, amplifiers, and antenna performance in airborne communication systems.
- Hands-on experience with RF test equipment, including spectrum analyzers, signal generators, vector network analyzers, power meters, oscilloscopes, and calibrated measurement setups.
- Experience designing or validating RF systems for drones, UAVs, aerospace, defense, wireless communications, or other safety- and reliability-critical products.
- Proficiency with RF simulation, electromagnetic analysis, PCB or microwave design workflows, and engineering tools such as ADS, CST, HFSS, MATLAB, or equivalent platforms.
- Practical understanding of telemetry, command-and-control links, GNSS, video or payload data links, radios, antennas, spectrum planning, and electromagnetic compatibility requirements.
- Ability to interpret RF test data, isolate failure mechanisms, write clear technical reports, and drive corrective actions from prototype evaluation through field deployment.
Additional Plus
- Experience with regulatory or customer certification for airborne wireless systems, including spectrum coordination, EMC testing, environmental qualification, or compliance documentation.
- Familiarity with SDR platforms, custom RF front ends, high-frequency PCB layout, coaxial and connector standards, or antenna placement on compact airframes.
- Exposure to productionization, design-for-manufacturing, supplier management, and structured configuration control for low-volume or high-reliability hardware products.
What You'll Bring
- Five or more years of professional RF engineering experience, with meaningful work on drones, UAVs, aerospace, defense, wireless communications, or closely related embedded hardware systems.
- A bachelor's or master's degree in electronics, telecommunications, electrical engineering, or a related discipline, supported by strong practical understanding of RF system behavior.
- Demonstrated ownership of RF products or subsystems from requirements and architecture through laboratory validation, flight or field testing, troubleshooting, and production release.
- Clear communication, structured problem-solving, and collaborative judgment when working across engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, quality teams, and customer-facing stakeholders.
Why Join Us
This role gives you direct ownership of RF performance in drone systems where engineering decisions have visible operational consequences. You will work on communication and connectivity challenges that affect range, reliability, mission continuity, and customer trust, rather than contributing to isolated laboratory exercises. The position offers exposure across architecture, component selection, simulation, integration, testing, compliance, and field learning, allowing you to influence the full product lifecycle. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and help convert complex RF requirements into dependable, production-ready systems. Binding Minds’ focus on inclusive workforce solutions and accessibility creates a workplace where professional contribution is valued alongside technical depth. The company’s multi-industry perspective also supports practical problem-solving, adaptability, and continuous learning. For an engineer who wants to apply advanced RF capability to rapidly evolving unmanned platforms, this is an opportunity to shape system outcomes, strengthen product readiness, and build solutions that perform reliably in demanding real-world conditions.
What We Offer
- Competitive compensation aligned with experience, technical depth, and demonstrated ownership of RF systems in drone or related advanced hardware environments.
- A hybrid working model that combines focused engineering time with the laboratory, integration, testing, and field collaboration required for dependable product outcomes.
- An inclusive environment that values accessibility, diverse perspectives, professional growth, and collaboration across technical and delivery teams.
- The opportunity to influence next-generation unmanned systems while working across the complete RF product lifecycle from concept through deployment.
