Cadient Talent is hiring on behalf of one of its clients, a fabrication company in Fort Worth, TX. They need experienced Fitter/Welders to join their team.

Job summary

The right candidate has hands-on experience with flux-cored welding and metal fitting. They can read and interpret engineering drawings and weld symbols, and they know welding setup, materials and fabrication processes well.

Key responsibilities

Weld using the assigned techniques and procedures.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, weld symbols and Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).
Weld components in flat and vertical positions.
Do flux-cored welding and fit metal components and assemblies.
Work with steel alloys, aluminum and other specialty materials.
Set up welding equipment and adjust welding parameters, including amperage and voltage.
Lay out, position, align and secure parts and assemblies to specification.
Use measuring tools such as straightedges, combination squares and measuring tapes.
Carry out process inspections and keep required certifications and documentation up to date.
Do routine maintenance on welding equipment.
Do finish grinding with manual and power tools.
Follow all safety procedures and quality standards.

Qualifications & requirements

Previous experience as a Fitter/Welder.
Proven experience with flux-cored welding (FCAW).
Experience with metal fit-up and assembly.
Ability to read and interpret welding drawings and weld symbols.
Knowledge of welding materials and filler metals.
Ability to set up welding equipment and choose the right welding parameters.
Must pass an internal welding test for the 1F, 1G and 2F positions.
Ability to use basic measuring and hand tools.
