About the Company
Binding Minds is a global staffing and recruiting firm founded in 2009, supporting organizations across technology, healthcare, finance, manufacturing, and other industries. The company operates through teams in the United States and India, combining recruiting expertise with delivery support to help clients build stronger, more capable teams. Its mission is to connect great talent with great opportunities while creating value for clients, candidates, and the wider community. In this role, you will contribute to a team-oriented environment that values quality, responsiveness, and practical outcomes. You will work with stakeholders to translate requirements into thoughtful interior concepts, coordinated documentation, and spaces that support business and user needs. The company’s international footprint provides exposure to varied client expectations, project contexts, and collaboration styles while maintaining a people-focused approach to professional growth.
About the Role
As a Senior Interior Designer, you will own interior design outcomes from concept development through documentation and project coordination. You will shape environments that respond to client objectives, user needs, brand considerations, budgets, and delivery constraints. The role combines creative direction with disciplined execution: developing design narratives, producing coordinated drawings and specifications, reviewing materials, and resolving issues with consultants, vendors, and site teams. You will serve as a trusted design partner for stakeholders, making decisions that improve usability, visual quality, constructability, and project performance. Success means moving projects forward with clear rationale, reliable documentation, and spaces that meet both aesthetic and operational goals. You will also help strengthen team capability by sharing design standards, reviewing work, and supporting more consistent delivery across projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Own interior design concepts from brief to approved direction, ensuring each solution connects user needs, client objectives, brand intent, budget, and measurable project outcomes.
- Develop layouts, mood boards, material palettes, presentations, and detailed design packages that convert creative intent into coordinated, buildable project information.
- Coordinate with architects, consultants, contractors, vendors, and client representatives to resolve design interfaces, protect quality, and maintain progress against agreed timelines.
- Review drawings, shop drawings, samples, and site execution to identify deviations early and secure decisions that preserve design integrity and practical performance.
- Manage design deliverables, revisions, and approvals through structured documentation, clear communication, and disciplined version control across project stages.
- Mentor junior designers through feedback, design reviews, and practical guidance, improving team capability, consistency, and the quality of final deliverables.
Essential Skills & Technologies
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and presentation tools, with the ability to produce accurate drawings, compelling visual narratives, and client-ready documentation.
- Strong knowledge of space planning, interior detailing, materials, finishes, furniture, lighting coordination, and construction documentation for commercial or residential environments.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret briefs, manage competing priorities, communicate design rationale, and make commercially sound decisions under timeline and budget constraints.
- Working understanding of building codes, accessibility, safety requirements, and coordination principles needed to develop responsible, executable interior solutions.
- Strong stakeholder management and presentation skills, with confidence collaborating across clients, consultants, contractors, vendors, and geographically distributed teams.
Additional Plus
- Experience delivering workplace, hospitality, retail, residential, or mixed-use interiors across multiple project phases and scales.
- Familiarity with Revit, BIM workflows, rendering tools, or visualization platforms that improve coordination, review quality, and stakeholder decision-making.
- Experience working with international clients or cross-border teams, adapting communication and design outputs to different expectations and project contexts.
What You'll Bring
- Five or more years of professional interior design experience with a portfolio demonstrating ownership of concepts, documentation, coordination, and delivered outcomes.
- A bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related discipline, supported by strong understanding of design fundamentals, detailing, materials, and spatial planning.
- A balanced design mindset: creatively ambitious enough to produce distinctive solutions, yet disciplined enough to protect budgets, schedules, constructability, safety, and client priorities.
- The ability to take ownership without losing collaboration, bringing clarity to ambiguous briefs and building alignment among clients, consultants, vendors, and internal teams.
- Strong visual communication, presentation, and written documentation skills, with confidence explaining trade-offs and guiding stakeholders toward timely decisions.
- A quality-focused approach to reviewing work, anticipating risks, and improving processes so projects move efficiently from idea to execution.
- A collaborative leadership style that supports junior designers, welcomes feedback, and contributes to a respectful, inclusive, and high-performing team environment.
