Primary purpose of the role
A Stores Manager is responsible for overseeing the efficient operation of the storage and dispatch functions within a manufacturing facility. This role involves managing the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials, ensuring accurate inventory management, and maintaining seamless coordination with production, purchase, and other departments to meet production schedules. The manager is also tasked with optimizing space utilization, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and driving continuous improvement initiatives within the stores and dispatch operations.
Major responsibilities
Inventory & Space Management
Ensure effective operations of the store, optimizing space utilization, and managing on-time material inward, GRN preparation, issuance, stock transfers, and outward logistics. Escalate any unresolved abnormalities to the manager.
Cross-functional Collaboration
Work closely with the production, calibration, PPC, purchase, and packing teams to ensure material availability and alignment with the production plan.
Material Movement Documentation
Provide timely support to production and purchase teams by preparing and managing documents for material movement inside and outside the MPA facility.
Continuous Improvement & SAP Support
Actively participate in the ramp-up journey of MPA to enhance the production as per company’s objective
Drive continuous improvement programs focused on optimizing space utilization and material movement within the stores.
Actively participate in SAP reviews and support the R&D team in resolving product-related issues.
Skill evaluation / enhancement of store associates.
Health, Safety, & Compliance
Ensure compliance with relevant health, safety, environmental, regulatory, and ISO requirements
Monitoring store performance and identifying areas for improvement.
