Company Proof Points
- The company is a leading online specialist in custom-made window coverings, which gives the finance function a clear commercial context tied to product mix, pricing, and margin management.
- Its focus on customer satisfaction and personalized service means the CFO must support decisions that protect service quality while maintaining financial discipline.
- Competitive pricing is part of the company proposition, making financial planning and cost control central to sustained performance.
About the Role
The CFO will own the financial engine of the business, ensuring planning, control, reporting, and capital decisions support profitable growth. This leader will partner closely with the executive team to translate strategy into financial priorities, create visibility across performance, and challenge decisions with clear commercial logic. The role requires a hands-on executive who can strengthen governance without slowing execution. Success will come from building trust in the numbers, improving decision quality, and ensuring the company has the financial structure to scale responsibly. The right person will be equally comfortable in strategic discussions and in driving the operating cadence that keeps finance accurate, timely, and actionable.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the company’s financial planning, forecasting, and reporting cadence so leadership has a reliable view of performance, cash, and risk. Use these levers to improve decision quality and support profitable growth.
- Lead accounting, controls, and compliance standards so the business stays accurate, audit-ready, and protected. Tight financial governance reduces exposure and strengthens investor and management confidence.
- Partner with the executive team on strategic and commercial decisions, using financial insight to evaluate trade-offs, prioritization, and return on investment. This ensures capital is deployed where it creates the most value.
- Manage cash flow, working capital, and liquidity discipline so the business can fund operations, growth, and seasonal demands without unnecessary strain. Strong cash management protects resilience.
- Build and lead a high-performing finance function with clear accountability, effective systems, and a strong service mindset. A scalable team and operating model improve speed, reliability, and business support.
- Own relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, banks, and other financial stakeholders, ensuring the company is represented with credibility and discipline. Strong external management reduces friction and risk.
- Drive continuous improvement in finance processes, reporting tools, and controls so the function becomes faster, cleaner, and more insight-led. Better systems create better management information and reduce manual effort.
Essential Skills & Technologies
- Deep financial leadership experience across planning, reporting, accounting, and control in a growth-oriented business. The CFO must turn financial data into clear action and executive-level decisions.
- Strong command of cash flow management, working capital, and balance sheet discipline. These capabilities are essential to maintaining resilience and funding growth responsibly.
- Proven ability to partner with commercial and operational leaders on strategy, margin, pricing, investment, and performance management. The role must influence outcomes beyond the finance team.
- Experience building or improving finance processes, controls, and reporting systems that improve speed, accuracy, and transparency. Operational discipline in finance directly improves business confidence.
- Credibility with auditors, banks, tax advisors, and other external partners, with a track record of reliable governance and sound judgment. External confidence matters as much as internal control.
- Comfortable leading teams through change, scaling structures, and raising performance standards. The CFO should create clarity, accountability, and momentum across the function.
Additional Plus
- Experience in private equity environments is a great plus because it helps align finance with rigorous performance expectations, governance, and value creation.
- Experience in e-commerce, retail, consumer, or other digitally enabled businesses is a strong advantage because it helps align finance with customer, product, and margin dynamics.
- Exposure to international or multi-entity environments can be valuable where reporting, tax, and governance complexity increase with scale.
What You'll Bring
- A strategic finance mindset with the discipline to translate business goals into measurable financial priorities and operating rhythms.
- Strong executive presence and communication skills, with the confidence to challenge assumptions and align stakeholders around the right decisions.
