About the Role
The FP&A Manager will own the planning engine that turns financial data into clear business decisions. The role is responsible for forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and performance reporting, with a strong emphasis on improving visibility into cost, revenue, and operating trends. This position requires someone who can work closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to translate business activity into actionable financial insight. Success in the role comes from building reliable models, tightening planning cycles, and helping the business act earlier and with more confidence. Strong hands-on experience with Alteryx and Tableau is essential because the role depends on efficient data preparation, automation, and clear reporting at scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the annual budgeting, rolling forecast, and long-range planning cadence so leadership has a reliable view of performance, headroom, and investment needs. Use structured financial models to improve planning accuracy and decision speed.
- Build and maintain management reporting that explains what is driving actuals versus plan. Turn complex financial data into clear insight for senior stakeholders, not just static reporting packs.
- Use Alteryx to automate recurring data preparation and reconciliation workflows. Reduce manual effort, improve data quality, and shorten the time required to produce trusted outputs.
- Develop Tableau dashboards that give leaders timely visibility into revenue, cost, margin, and productivity metrics. Design reporting that supports faster action and better accountability.
- Partner with business and functional leaders to evaluate initiatives, assess trade-offs, and model financial impact. Support decisions with clear scenarios, assumptions, and business cases.
- Monitor monthly performance, investigate variances, and explain the operational drivers behind results. Convert findings into recommendations that improve forecast confidence and execution discipline.
- Strengthen planning processes, templates, and controls so the FP&A function becomes more scalable and less dependent on manual intervention. Focus on repeatability, governance, and quality.
Essential Skills & Technologies
- Strong FP&A experience across budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial planning. Able to connect operational drivers to financial outcomes and communicate implications clearly to leadership.
- Advanced hands-on capability with Alteryx for data automation, transformation, and workflow efficiency. Comfortable improving data pipelines so reporting is faster, cleaner, and more reliable.
- Strong Tableau skills for dashboard design, metric tracking, and executive reporting. Able to build visuals that clarify trends, surface exceptions, and support decision-making.
- Excellent financial modeling and analytical thinking with the ability to handle large, complex datasets. Uses structure and precision to improve planning quality and reduce ambiguity.
- Strong stakeholder management and business partnering skills. Can work across finance, operations, and leadership teams to align assumptions, challenge inputs, and drive consensus.
- Clear communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain financial insight in simple terms. Translates analysis into decisions, actions, and accountability.
Additional Plus
- Experience in a high-growth, multi-industry, or services-led environment is a plus because it helps navigate complexity and changing business priorities.
- Familiarity with process improvement or automation-led finance transformation is an advantage, especially where reporting cycles need to be faster and more scalable.
- Exposure to cross-functional planning with operations or commercial teams would be helpful for building stronger integrated forecasts.
What You'll Bring
- You bring strong ownership of finance planning outcomes, not just reporting activity. You know how to make forecasts more accurate, models more useful, and leadership decisions more timely.
- You combine technical depth with practical business judgment. That means you can work with messy data, improve workflows, and still keep the focus on business impact.
- You are comfortable influencing stakeholders with facts, structure, and clarity. You help teams move from debate to decisions by showing what is changing, why it matters, and what to do next.
- You care about building scalable FP&A processes that reduce manual work and improve consistency. You look for ways to make the function faster, cleaner, and more dependable.
