About the Company

Cheil Worldwide is a global creative agency headquartered in Seoul, South Korea, with a heritage dating back to 1973. The company brings together creativity, strategy, technology, data, commerce, and integrated marketing to help brands create meaningful connections with people. With approximately 6,500 employees across 53 offices in 46 countries, Cheil works across markets and disciplines to solve complex business and brand challenges. Its teams combine local cultural understanding with global collaboration, developing work that is designed to be relevant, measurable, and effective. The organization operates at the intersection of ideas and impact, helping clients strengthen brand preference, improve customer experiences, and deliver growth through connected communications. In India, this role will contribute to a collaborative, fast-moving environment where social platforms are treated as strategic business channels rather than isolated publishing outlets. The team values curiosity, craft, accountability, and the ability to turn audience insight into distinctive work that performs across platforms.

About the Role

As Social Media Manager, you will own the social media agenda for assigned brands or business portfolios, translating brand strategy and audience insight into content ecosystems that build relevance, engagement, and measurable business impact. You will connect creative thinking with platform expertise, ensuring every channel has a clear role, consistent voice, and defined success measures. The role spans strategy, editorial planning, content development, publishing governance, community engagement, social listening, and performance optimization. You will partner with creative, strategy, account, media, production, and client teams to turn briefs into culturally relevant work that performs in real time. Success means growing qualified attention, strengthening brand consideration, improving content efficiency, and using evidence to make the next campaign sharper than the last.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own social strategy and channel plans for assigned brands, defining platform roles, audience priorities, content pillars, and measurable objectives that connect community growth with brand and business outcomes.
  • Lead editorial calendars and integrated content programs, converting campaign briefs and cultural moments into timely, platform-native ideas that improve relevance, engagement quality, and content effectiveness.
  • Direct the briefing, development, review, and publishing of social content with creative and production partners, protecting brand standards while improving speed, consistency, and executional quality.
  • Establish measurement frameworks across reach, engagement, video performance, sentiment, community health, traffic, and conversion signals, turning analytics into clear optimization decisions for stakeholders.
  • Own community management principles and escalation workflows, ensuring audience interactions are responsive, brand-safe, insight-generating, and aligned with client reputation and customer experience priorities.
  • Partner with media, strategy, data, technology, and account teams to connect organic and paid social activity, strengthen testing discipline, and improve return on campaign investment.
  • Track platform changes, creator behavior, cultural trends, and competitor activity, using these signals to recommend opportunities that keep brands distinctive, useful, and competitively relevant.

Essential Skills & Technologies

  • Strong expertise in social strategy, editorial planning, content marketing, community management, and platform-native storytelling across Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, X, and emerging channels.
  • Practical experience with social analytics, listening, reporting, and optimization tools, using performance data to diagnose content outcomes, guide experimentation, and communicate recommendations clearly.
  • Confident stakeholder and client management skills, with the ability to brief creative teams, manage approvals, defend strategic choices, and maintain delivery quality under deadlines.

Additional Plus

  • Experience in an integrated creative agency or complex multi-brand environment, managing simultaneous campaigns while balancing strategic thinking, operational rigor, and changing stakeholder priorities.
  • Familiarity with creator partnerships, influencer programs, social commerce, paid amplification, or marketing technology, with an understanding of how these levers can extend content impact.
  • Strong cultural curiosity and visual or copy judgment, enabling you to identify relevant conversations and shape ideas that feel distinctive without compromising brand safety.
  • Experience mentoring junior social or content professionals and improving team processes, templates, governance, and knowledge-sharing practices.

What You'll Bring

You will bring four to seven years of experience in social media, digital marketing, content, or integrated communications, with a portfolio demonstrating clear thinking and strong execution. You understand how each platform behaves, but you also know that platform knowledge is only valuable when it serves a defined audience and business objective. You can move comfortably from a strategic recommendation to an editorial calendar, a creative brief, a publishing decision, or a performance readout. You are commercially aware, organized, and confident working with clients and multidisciplinary teams. You bring sound judgment when priorities compete, communicate trade-offs early, and keep work moving without losing quality. You are curious about culture, creators, formats, and technology, and you use those inputs to make brands more useful and distinctive. You are comfortable with data and can explain what happened, why it happened, and what should change next. Most importantly, you take ownership of outcomes: you close loops, learn from evidence, and build systems that help teams produce better social work repeatedly.
