About the Company
Gunjit_testing is a small company operating in the banking industry, with its headquarters in Navi Mumbai and an additional location in Bengaluru. The organization is building its presence through focused teams and practical execution, supported by a lean operating environment where individuals can take ownership and see the impact of their work. As part of the company, you will contribute to visual content that helps communicate products, services, and brand stories clearly to audiences. The team values hands-on collaboration, dependable delivery, and thoughtful presentation. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with creative and content stakeholders while shaping how food and related stories appear across photography, video, digital campaigns, and other brand touchpoints. Success in this position will come from combining culinary understanding with strong visual judgment, disciplined preparation, and the ability to deliver polished results within production constraints.
About the Role
As a Food Stylist, you will own the visual presentation of food across photography, video, digital campaigns, and branded content. You will translate creative briefs into appetizing, camera-ready compositions by coordinating ingredients, preparation, props, surfaces, lighting considerations, and on-set adjustments. The role connects culinary technique with visual storytelling, ensuring every frame supports the intended brand message and production objective. You will collaborate with photographers, videographers, art directors, chefs, and content teams to deliver consistent, high-quality work on schedule. Your impact will be measured through compelling food imagery, efficient production execution, reduced rework, and stronger audience engagement with the company’s content.
Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end food styling for photography and video productions, translating creative briefs into appetizing compositions that strengthen campaign quality and audience response.
- Plan ingredients, preparation methods, textures, colors, surfaces, and props before shoots, reducing production delays while ensuring every visual choice supports the intended concept.
- Collaborate with photographers, videographers, chefs, art directors, and content teams on set, making timely styling adjustments that protect consistency, quality, and delivery schedules.
- Prepare food specifically for camera, managing freshness, portioning, finishing, and visual details so each frame remains polished under studio and production conditions.
- Build and maintain styling references, prop requirements, shot plans, and production checklists, creating a repeatable system that improves readiness and reduces avoidable rework.
- Source, organize, and manage styling materials responsibly, balancing creative ambition with budget, availability, food safety, and practical production constraints.
- Review captured visuals with creative stakeholders and recommend refinements, improving composition, appetite appeal, brand alignment, and overall effectiveness of final content.
Essential Skills & Technologies
- Strong food styling and culinary presentation skills, with the ability to create appetizing textures, colors, finishes, and compositions that remain effective under photography and video conditions.
- Working knowledge of food preparation, ingredient behavior, freshness management, food safety, and camera-ready techniques for maintaining quality throughout a production.
- Understanding of photography and video production workflows, including lighting awareness, framing, prop selection, shot continuity, and collaboration with on-set creative teams.
- Strong visual judgment and attention to detail, using color, scale, texture, surfaces, and composition to support a clear brand story and consistent campaign output.
- Ability to interpret creative briefs and mood boards, convert concepts into practical styling plans, and communicate decisions clearly with cross-functional production partners.
Additional Plus
- Experience styling food for advertising, social media, editorial, e-commerce, or branded content campaigns with varied formats and production requirements.
- Familiarity with prop sourcing, tabletop set design, plating techniques, and basic image review tools used to evaluate composition and visual consistency.
- Culinary training, professional kitchen experience, or exposure to recipe development can strengthen the ability to solve styling challenges quickly and realistically.
What You'll Bring
- 2–5 years of professional experience in food styling, culinary production, food photography, advertising, editorial content, or a closely related creative discipline.
- A portfolio demonstrating strong food presentation, visual storytelling, composition, and the ability to create polished work across photography or video formats.
- Practical ownership, calm on-set decision-making, and the ability to manage multiple styling details while meeting briefs, timelines, quality expectations, and production constraints.
- Clear communication and collaborative working habits, with the judgment to incorporate feedback while protecting the visual intent and business purpose of each deliverable.
