About the Company

We are a leading specialty chemical manufacturer headquartered in Hyderabad, India, developing high-performance materials for electronics, energy, and infrastructure markets. Our work supports customers operating in sectors where material quality, technical reliability, and consistent supply directly influence product performance and long-term growth. The company combines specialized chemical expertise with a customer-focused commercial model, partnering closely with businesses to understand application requirements and deliver fit-for-purpose solutions. As we expand our presence in Japan, we are building stronger relationships with customers, channel partners, and technical stakeholders across the region. This role will contribute to a growing international business by connecting Japanese market needs with our product capabilities, commercial priorities, and service commitments. The successful candidate will work across sales, technical, operations, and leadership teams to turn market insight into profitable growth. We value ownership, disciplined execution, technical curiosity, and durable customer partnerships. Our culture gives commercially minded professionals the opportunity to shape regional strategy while creating measurable value for customers and the business.

About the Role

The Regional Sales Manager will own commercial growth across Japan, building a qualified pipeline, expanding strategic accounts, and strengthening channel and customer relationships for specialty chemical products. Through structured territory planning, consultative selling, and cross-functional coordination, the role will translate market opportunities into profitable revenue and sustainable customer value. The manager will connect customer application requirements with internal technical and operational capabilities, ensuring solutions are positioned accurately and delivered reliably. This role requires both strategic judgment and hands-on execution: identifying priority segments, shaping account plans, negotiating commercial outcomes, and establishing a credible market presence in Japan. The position is based in Tokyo and works onsite, partnering closely with regional leadership and teams supporting electronics, energy, and infrastructure markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the Japan sales plan, prioritizing segments, accounts, and opportunities that can deliver profitable growth aligned with the company’s specialty-chemical capabilities and regional strategy.
  • Build executive-level relationships with customers, distributors, and channel partners, improving retention, share of wallet, and long-term commercial value across priority accounts.
  • Manage the full opportunity lifecycle through disciplined pipeline reviews, qualification, forecasting, negotiation, and close management, improving revenue predictability and conversion quality.
  • Translate customer application requirements into coordinated technical and commercial proposals, ensuring solutions are relevant, differentiated, feasible, and aligned with delivery commitments.
  • Gather market intelligence on competitors, pricing, customer priorities, and emerging demand, converting insights into territory actions, product feedback, and investment recommendations.
  • Coordinate with technical, operations, supply, finance, and leadership teams to resolve customer issues quickly, protect relationships, and deliver reliable service outcomes.
  • Establish measurable account and partner plans, tracking activity quality, revenue, margin, pipeline health, and customer outcomes through consistent operating rhythms.

Essential Skills & Technologies

  • Demonstrated B2B sales experience in specialty chemicals, advanced materials, industrial products, or a closely related technical market, with ownership of complex regional accounts.
  • Strong consultative selling, account planning, negotiation, forecasting, and pipeline-management capability, supported by disciplined use of CRM and commercial reporting systems.
  • Professional fluency in Japanese and English, with the communication judgment to engage technical buyers, procurement leaders, distributors, and senior business stakeholders.
  • Ability to understand technical product value, connect applications to customer economics, and collaborate effectively with research, engineering, manufacturing, and supply teams.
  • Proven ownership of revenue growth, customer retention, margin outcomes, and cross-functional execution in a Japanese or broader Asia-Pacific market.

Additional Plus

  • Existing relationships with Japanese customers, distributors, or influencers in electronics, energy, infrastructure, or adjacent specialty-materials markets can accelerate market entry and account development.
  • Experience launching products, developing new territories, or building partner ecosystems in Japan would strengthen the role’s ability to create scalable regional growth.
  • Familiarity with international supply chains, technical regulatory considerations, and cross-border commercial operations would support reliable execution across customers and internal teams.

What You'll Bring

  • You bring 7–10 years of progressive B2B sales experience, ideally in specialty chemicals, advanced materials, industrial technology, or another technically complex environment where credibility and value selling matter.
  • You have managed strategic accounts and regional territories with clear ownership for revenue, margin, pipeline, forecasting, and customer retention outcomes.
  • You communicate fluently in Japanese and English, adapting your approach for technical experts, procurement teams, business leaders, distributors, and internal stakeholders.
  • You combine commercial drive with technical curiosity, asking strong application questions and translating customer problems into solutions that internal teams can execute.
  • You operate with structure and follow-through, using CRM discipline, account plans, forecast reviews, and measurable priorities to turn strategy into consistent field execution.
  • You are comfortable working across cultures and functions, building trust in Japan while maintaining alignment with a Hyderabad-headquartered organization and wider regional priorities.
  • You demonstrate sound judgment in negotiations, customer commitments, escalation management, and prioritization, balancing immediate opportunities with durable account value.
  • You are motivated by ownership: identifying where growth is possible, mobilizing the right resources, and remaining accountable until the customer and business outcomes are achieved.

Why Join Us

This is an opportunity to shape the Japan commercial presence of a leading specialty chemical manufacturer with a clear connection to electronics, energy, and infrastructure markets. You will own a meaningful regional mandate rather than managing a narrow set of transactional activities, giving you direct influence over customers, partners, pipeline quality, and revenue outcomes. The role brings together market strategy, consultative selling, technical collaboration, and operational execution, making it well suited to a sales leader who wants broad accountability. You will work closely with teams across commercial, technical, operations, and leadership functions, gaining visibility into how specialized products become customer value and sustainable growth. Based in Tokyo, you will help establish durable relationships in one of the world’s most demanding industrial markets while connecting local insight to international capabilities. The company offers the scope to build a territory, influence product and service priorities, and create a measurable platform for expansion. Your work will directly affect customer trust, market reputation, and the company’s next stage of growth in Japan.

What We Offer

  • The opportunity to represent technically differentiated specialty-chemical solutions across electronics, energy, infrastructure, and other demanding industrial markets.
  • Direct collaboration with commercial, technical, operations, and leadership teams in an international organization headquartered in Hyderabad, India.
