About the Role

The Site Head - Projects will lead the overall delivery of projects across France, ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and operational standards. This position demands strategic oversight of site operations, from initial planning through execution, ensuring alignment with SYSTRA’s mission of creating safe and efficient transport solutions. You will be responsible for managing project managers and contractors, driving performance to optimize resources and outcomes. This role requires a minimum of 10 years of experience in project management and infrastructure, demonstrated leadership capabilities to collaborate across diverse teams, and adaptability to various project contexts. Your role will encompass risk management, stakeholder engagement, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project delivery effectiveness, contributing to SYSTRA's measurable mobility impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the overall execution of infrastructure projects across France, ensuring completion on time and within budget through effective resource management.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to establish project plans, manage timelines, and communicate updates with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Drive compliance with safety and quality standards, establishing protocols that ensure labour safety and regulatory compliance on site.
  • Implement risk management strategies, identifying potential issues and developing mitigation plans to maintain project progress and safety.
  • Foster relationships with governmental and regulatory bodies to ensure project alignment with regional transportation strategies and approval processes.
  • Optimize project performance through data-driven analysis and feedback loops, continuously improving processes and reducing risks.
  • Facilitate transparent communication across projects, ensuring all stakeholders are informed and engaged throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Oversee financial forecasting and budgeting for projects, ensuring accurate financial tracking and reporting.
  • Mentor and develop project managers, fostering a culture of accountability, professional growth, and knowledge-sharing within teams.
  • Promote SYSTRA's commitment to sustainability by implementing green practices in project execution and promoting low-carbon mobility solutions.

Essential Skills & Technologies

  • Strong foundation in project management methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall approaches, enabling efficient project execution and stakeholder engagement.
  • Proficient in use of project management software tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) to plan, execute, and monitor project performance.
  • Expertise in risk assessment and mitigation strategies ensuring project reliability and stakeholder confidence.
  • Advanced communication and interpersonal skills to manage diverse teams and foster collaboration across multiple stakeholders.
  • Deep understanding of safety and regulatory requirements within the engineering and transport sectors, driving adherence on site.
