QA Automation Selenium Engineer

Location: Gurgaon, India | Experience: Junior (0–2 years)

About the Company

Testing is a small, focused company based in Gurgaon, India, building with a practical, hands-on mindset. The team values reliable execution, direct communication, and ownership from people who can turn quality goals into consistent delivery. As a lean organization, it needs people who can improve how work gets tested, make releases safer, and help the business move faster without adding unnecessary process. This role sits in a company that cares about product stability, fast feedback loops, and clear accountability. The environment is best suited to someone who enjoys working close to the product and takes pride in making software dependable for users and internal teams alike.

About the Role

This role owns automated test coverage for core product flows and helps reduce release risk through stable Selenium-based testing. The position is responsible for building a dependable automation layer that supports faster delivery, earlier defect detection, and better confidence in product changes. It is a hands-on role for someone who can balance test design, execution quality, and practical collaboration with developers and product owners. The right person will strengthen the quality function by improving test reliability, expanding coverage where it matters most, and making automation a lever for speed rather than a bottleneck.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain Selenium automation for key user journeys so product changes can be validated quickly and consistently before release.
  • Improve test coverage around high-risk and high-traffic workflows to reduce escaped defects and increase confidence in deployments.
  • Work closely with engineering to identify what should be automated, what should remain manual, and where testing effort creates the most business value.
  • Diagnose automation failures, stabilize flaky tests, and keep the suite useful as the product and codebase evolve.
  • Create clear defect reports and test evidence so product and engineering teams can act quickly on quality issues.
  • Contribute to regression planning and release readiness by turning quality checks into a repeatable system that protects delivery speed.
  • Support continuous improvement in QA practices by refining how tests are organized, executed, and maintained over time.

Essential Skills & Technologies

  • Strong hands-on experience with Selenium and automation testing, with the ability to convert business-critical flows into reliable test coverage.
  • Good understanding of test design, regression testing, defect reporting, and quality assurance practices that help teams ship with confidence.
  • Experience working with Java or a similar programming language used in test automation, with clean and maintainable code as a priority.
  • Familiarity with version control, build pipelines, and test execution workflows that support repeatable releases and faster feedback.
  • Ability to collaborate across engineering and product teams, using clear communication to align on risk, coverage, and release quality.
  • Practical debugging skills to investigate flaky tests, environment issues, and root causes without slowing the delivery cycle.

Additional Plus

  • Experience with test frameworks, CI/CD tools, or API testing is a plus because it helps expand quality coverage beyond browser automation.
  • Exposure to agile delivery environments is helpful, especially where release speed and test reliability must improve together.
  • Prior experience improving QA processes in a small or fast-moving team would be valuable because this role needs ownership, not just execution.

What You'll Bring

  • A strong ownership mindset, with the ability to treat quality as a measurable business outcome rather than a checklist of test cases.
  • The discipline to build automation that stays reliable over time, even as product features, environments, and priorities change.
  • Clear communication with developers and stakeholders so quality risks are visible early and decisions can be made quickly.
  • A practical approach to testing that balances coverage, speed, and maintenance effort to support release confidence.
